My mini vacation was wonderful! I didn’t need much. I went up there to do nothing but sleep and rest. I wasn’t sure if I was going to make it or not. I was flying stand-by, via a good friend that works for an airline. When she checked the status of the flights to Buffalo, they were booked, oversold by 14. She told me to come to the airport earlier and the first flight was full. Maybe someone would not get on and I would be able to get on the flight. It was longer. I had a layover in Baltimore. Not a big deal.
I made the flight! There were 3 seats available. Woo hoo! I had a middle seat, I didn’t care. An hour and 1/2 later I was there. Baltimore to Buffalo was wide open!
I got to Buffalo. Went to Starbucks to get a coffee while I was waiting for my next flight. I went to pay for my coffee…OH MY GOSH, I DIDN’T HAVE MY DEBIT/CREDIT CARD!! WHAT???!!!! How would I pay for my rental car once I got to Buffalo? Holy Crap!! Tom was almost to Niagara. He rode up with the Reba Crew. I called him…I was stressed…I was upset with me!
The night before I had taken my card out to order something online. Rowan, my lovely little 3 year old, decided to grab it when I wasn’t looking and try to bend and break it. I took it from him. Put it out of the way instead of back in my wallet! And it still sits somewhere out of the way in my kitchen!!
Back to story…
So, Long story short…Tom had to rent a car in Canada and then he had to drive back to Buffalo and pick me up at the airport!
It was Sunday, many people were coming back from Canada and many people were going to Canada. The line at immigration to get out and back in to Canada was long. So I had to wait for Tom. Of course I didn’t care! Otherwise I would have had to take a taxi, or something!
We then had to wait in line to get back in to Canada. Needless to say, we got back into Canada much later then we thought. It was alright, we had fun! We got to the hotel, checked in, to the Macaroni Grill on site, since it was so late, and had dinner. End of day 1.
